Rische GmbH is a third-generation, family-run SME in the Stuttgart area. Specializing in powder coating and metal engineering, the QIB- and DB-certified company supplies customers from industry, construction, automotive and rail with coated components as well as 3D printing and assembly services.
The need for warehouse staff had more than quadrupled since 2019. At the same time, structural expansion of the existing warehouse was not possible. The existing system – a 23-meter-long, 2.8-meter-wide aisle with high shelving – was neither ergonomic nor efficient: 40 kg containers sometimes had to be handled above head height, and each retrieval took up to 5 minutes.

The biggest problem was that production staff had to pick because there were no dedicated warehouse workers. This disrupted the workflow in core production on a daily basis. Retrieval speed has doubled to around 30 picks per hour per employee. No more overhead lifting, full inventory transparency, modular expandability.
